However, with determined minds we were able to collect over 7,000 plastic bottles, which essentially cleaned up the whole beach.
After
cleaning up the trash, we headed back to the hotel and ate a delicious
breakfast consisting of French toast, hash browns, eggs, and fruit. This
substantial meal provided our fuel for the rest of the day.
Shortly after the breakfast, we drove “Escape” (accent on the last e) and “the Yen van” to the historic Brimstone fort. This historic landmark provided us with incredible views and more knowledge about the history of St. Kitts. We took many pictures and had a wonderful time.
Right
after visiting this intriguing site, we drove to a rehabilitation center for sea
turtles combined with a Telapia farm, known as Snapper, owned by a brilliant
man, Dr Brown. Dr Brown gave us a very thorough and informative tour of his
farm. First, we visited a young turtle, who was shortly named Albert by Sarah.
We were educated about Albert and gained fascinating information about turtles.
Along with visiting the turtles, we were also able to visit the Telapia, and learned about their reproduction and even saw a hybrid fish known as a “Scalapia.” To some this was very fascinating, but to others the most notable part was when a male Telapia was brought out of the water and unfortunately urinated on Seth. Even though the animals were the main focus of this farm, one of the most interesting feature of this farm is that it is completely made out of trash. This is a very innovative and environmentally friendly idea that inspired all of us.
Overall, day four was a wonderful filled with important information and funny events. Everyone enjoyed this day and is looking forward to the rest of the trip.

Update from the "blog technician" (Mrs. Newman)
Due to slow and inconsistent internet, it has been difficult to post everyday. In order to keep up with the trip days, I will only be posting all the written comments and will try to add photos later, when the internet is more consistent. My apologies.
